A position indicator is a machine element part that allows users to easily measure the position of a workpiece, a machine part, by measuring the amount of movement of the workpiece and displaying it in a counted manner. It can be attached to a rotating shaft to check the feed rate. Position indicators with digital displays are also available. Digital display enables fine position adjustment and eliminates conventional errors and misalignments caused by the operator's senses in reading, thereby contributing to improved operations.
The following is a description of the uses of position indicators. Position indicators are suitable for adjusting the position of machines, for example, in packaging and packing machines, where they adjust workpieces to the correct width and position. In addition, we can also classify the uses according to the material used for the part of the mounting hub of the position indicator. This is because the mounting portion of the position indicator is in direct contact with the equipment and is thus greatly affected by the operating environment. There are two main categories.
The principle of position indicators is explained here. By attaching a position indicator to a feed screw or feed rotary shaft, rotating the shaft shows the feed amount of a work part that can be calculated. By matching the pitch of the feed axis with the indication of one rotation of the hub, it is possible to check how much the feed axis has fed. This enables the operator to grasp the feed rate, make precise adjustments, and accurately grasp the work status.
