・AccuTOF™ GC-Alpha is the 6th generation GC-TOFMS from the original AccuTOF™ GC. The ion optical system is now in the opposite shape from the traditional V-shape. The "Alpha" in the device name represents the ion trajectory (inverted V-shaped = A) when viewed from the side, and the developer's desire to start a new world of mass spectrometry with this device. It is being The AccuTOF™ GC-Alpha is an orthogonally accelerated time-of-flight mass spectrometer (OA-TOFMS) equipped with a two-stage field gradient reflectron. It has an ideal ion optical system that combines high ion transmittance (=sensitivity) and ultra-high resolution. AccuTOF™ GC-Alpha has newly developed the following hardware to achieve ultra-high resolution.
・Larger t: Increase flight distance to 4m
・Smaller Δt: New ion optical system using two-stage reflected electric field
・Smaller Δt: Ion transport system compatible with ions with a wide range of energies
The newly developed hardware has achieved 6 times higher resolution than the first generation AccuTOF™ GC, and has significantly improved mass accuracy. AccuTOF™ GC-Alpha is a high-end GC-MS system that simultaneously achieves high mass resolution, high mass accuracy, high sensitivity, fast data acquisition, wide dynamic range, and wide mass range. High mass resolution and high mass accuracy provide unprecedented high quality qualitative analysis results. The high-speed data acquisition enables application to the latest GC/MS measurements such as GCxGC, and the wide dynamic range is effective not only for quantitative analysis but also for qualitative analysis of mixed samples. The wide mass range is especially effective in direct MS measurements, and the high sensitivity brings out information on trace components that were previously invisible.
