About This Product

■ Key Technology 1: High-Performance Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometry Technology

• AccuTOF™ GC-Alpha is the sixth generation GC-TOFMS, counting from the original AccuTOF™ GC. The ion optics have been reversed from the conventional V-shape. The "Alpha" in the instrument name refers to the ion orbit (inverted V-shape = A) when viewed from the side, and also embodies the developers' desire to embark on a new world of mass spectrometry with this instrument. AccuTOF™ GC-Alpha is an orthogonal accelerated time-of-flight mass spectrometer (oa-TOFMS) equipped with a two-stage electric field gradient reflectron. It possesses an ideal ion optics system that achieves both high ion transmittance (=sensitivity) and ultra-high resolution. To achieve ultra-high resolution in AccuTOF™ GC-Alpha, the following hardware components were newly developed. • Larger t: Increased flight distance to 4m • Smaller Δt: Novel ion optics using a two-stage reflected electric field • Smaller Δt: Ion transport system compatible with a wide range of energies With newly developed hardware, a 6x higher resolution is achieved compared to the first-generation AccuTOF™ GC, and mass accuracy has also been greatly improved. The mass accuracy specification value of AccuTOF™ GC-Alpha is 1 ppm. As the definitive GC/MS qualitative analysis solution, it provides unparalleled high-quality measurement data. The ultimate GC-MS has arrived, capable of providing answers even in the qualitative analysis of unknown substances. • AccuTOF™ GC-Alpha Basic Performance Achieves high basic performance suitable for both qualitative and quantitative analysis Simultaneously achieves four 'high' specifications and two 'wide' specifications AccuTOF™ GC-Alpha is a high-end GC-MS system that simultaneously achieves high mass resolution, high mass accuracy, high sensitivity, high-speed data acquisition, wide dynamic range, and wide mass range. High mass resolution and high mass accuracy provide unprecedentedly high-quality qualitative analysis results. High-speed data acquisition enables application to the latest GC/MS measurements such as GCxGC, and the wide dynamic range is effective not only for quantitative analysis but also for qualitative analysis of mixed samples. The wide mass range is particularly powerful in direct MS measurements, and high sensitivity extracts information on trace components that were previously invisible.
