When an aluminum seal is attached to a hot component, such as a battery, it can lower the temperature by about 5 degrees Celsius, making it useful for heat dissipation and functioning as a heat sink.
Since the material is aluminum metal, it is also effective in blocking radiated noise and is used for decorative purposes due to its luster and gloss. It is also employed as a material for processing and vacuum packing, capitalizing on its heat resistance and waterproof properties. Given its versatile material properties, it finds application in a wide range of uses.
The most important precaution when handling aluminum seals is that their surface is electrically conductive. Since aluminum is a metal and lacks insulation against electricity, using aluminum seals near live parts may lead to electrical insulation breakdown due to condensation, tracking, etc., potentially resulting in electric shocks. Therefore, aluminum seals are not suitable for use around electrical wiring.
In cases of leaks caused by sudden heavy rain or typhoons, it may be challenging to have a contractor repair the leak immediately. In such situations, waterproof aluminum seals can serve as an emergency measure.
The first step is to locate the leak, remove oil and dirt, and dry the area. Afterward, apply the aluminum seal without gaps. Some types of aluminum seals may not be resistant to direct sunlight or may not be applicable due to the material, so careful selection is essential. Additionally, distinguishing between aluminum seals and tarpaulins is crucial, as tarpaulins are sometimes more convenient for covering larger areas affected by leaks.
Aluminum seals are often applied to joints in older kitchens. After extended use, they may start to peel off, causing staining. Although methods involving heat or moisture are generally effective for removing stickers, aluminum seals are occasionally stubborn.
Using a potent seal remover suitable for metal and glass can easily eliminate even the most resistant stickers. If adhesive residue remains, you can scrub it off with an eraser or a spatula.
