An inspection mirror is a tool used to check inaccessible areas and backsides of objects by reflecting them in a mirror.
It has a mirror attached to the end of a rod-shaped handle. The shape of the mirror can be round, square, or oval.
Glass is mainly used for the mirror part, but rust- and heat-resistant stainless steel and lightweight, break-resistant acrylic resin are also available.
There are various types of mirrors, such as those with an adjustable mirror angle, those with an elastic rod that can extend up to 2.5 m, those with a soft and bendable handle, and those with an LED light for use in dark places.
Inspection mirrors are used for construction, electrical, automotive, mechanical, painting, woodworking, equipment, welding, product inspection, playground equipment inspection, quality control, drainage equipment construction, etc.
Examples of use are as follows:
Increase work efficiency by selecting the appropriate inspection mirror in terms of shape and size according to the purpose of use and environment.
The most commonly used mirror material is glass, but inspection mirrors made of durable materials such as acrylic resin, which is light and does not break easily. There are also mirrors made of unbreakable stainless steel, which is suitable for areas where dust and dirt are not desired and for high-temperature environments, are also used.
There are also inspection mirrors that use a magnifying glass in the mirror part to enable inspection of detailed areas, those that employ a strong magnet outside the mirror to hold the inspection mirrors in place for work. There are also those that employ a ball joint in the rod part to allow adjustment to multiple angles.
Those with an antenna-type telescopic shaft can extend to a total length of 900 mm or more, making them convenient for working on high points.
Some use rubber grips for easy gripping and working even with oil or water-covered hands, while others use sponge grips to reduce hand fatigue and slippage.
Inspection mirrors that can be worked in dark places or at night thanks to LED lights have a luminous intensity of about 3,000 millicandela (MCD).
In environments where there is a risk of electric shock, such as in electrical facilities, rubber joints are used and the surface of the body is made of fiberglass coated with a special paint that increases water repellency.
