Table of Contents
A vibration meter is a device used at construction sites and factories where equipment is driven to ensure that the vibration caused by the equipment is not harmful to humans.
Vibration level meters indicate the level of vibration by correcting the degree of vibration based on how a person perceives the vibration. The calculation method for vibration levels is strictly defined in the standard. When operating the device, it must be installed and measured based on the appropriate position and equilibrium level.
Vibration meters are used in the pre-operational phase of equipment used on construction sites that generate vibration. Depending on whether the vibration meter measures the proper vibration value, it may be necessary to modify the time the equipment will be used.
When selecting a vibration meter, it is important to ensure that it meets industrial standards, that the vibration measurement method is appropriate for the environment in which it will be used, and that the measurement method is easy to learn. It is also important to consider whether the display format is easy to read and operate in order to improve work efficiency at the construction site, so it is advisable to take these factors into account when selecting a meter.
A vibration meter consists of a measuring section, a cable connecting the measuring section to the main unit, a display panel, and operation buttons.
In operation, the vibration signal measured by the measuring section is corrected by the degree to which it is perceived as vibration by humans. Acceleration sensors are mainly used in the measurement section.
Accelerometers are semiconductor devices that can output vibration levels as electrical signals by sending out electrical signals as the internal piezoelectric element deforms in response to vibration.
Vibration measurements are taken on a flat, hard surface, such as asphalt or concrete. Vertical vibration is measured in the vertical direction and horizontal vibration is measured in the horizontal direction. Vertical vibration is measured vertically and horizontal vibration is measured horizontally. If the vibration is irregular, the vibration level is averaged over a time period specified in the standard.
