What Is a Single-Point Load Cell?

A single-point load cell is a device designed to measure the weight or load of an object accurately. It operates by concentrating the load detection to a single point, making it ideal for weighing objects placed on a flat surface.

These load cells function by detecting minute displacements in the load cell structure, caused by the weight of the object, through internal metal strain gauges. The weight of an object on the load cell induces a slight deformation, altering the resistance in the strain gauges. This change in resistance results in an electrical signal output from the load cell, proportional to the object's weight. The signal is subsequently converted into a weight measurement.
