About This Product

■What Is Anodizing (Alumite)?

Anodizing (alumite) is a method of artificially forming an oxide film (Al2O3) on an aluminum surface, and it is used for wear resistance and rust prevention of machine parts and jig and tool parts. It is also easy to color, so a variety of colors can be provided. ・Machine parts, jig and tool parts, decoration ・Wear resistance, corrosion resistance, coloring

■Coating Properties of Anodizing

・Adhesion Extremely good adhesion to the substrate ・Coating Structure The coating is an aggregate of fine hexagonal columns, each with a straight tubular hole (pore) at its center ・Coating Thickness General: 5 to 20 µm; hard anodizing: 30 to 100 µm ・Hardness General: 200 to 250 Hv; hard anodizing: 400 to 450 Hv ・Wear Resistance Excellent wear resistance; the amount of wear is about 1/30 that of the aluminum base material ・Colorability Dyeing and coloring can be done freely by adsorbing or depositing paints or metals into the countless pores on the coating surface
