Sealing machinery is a semi-automatic or automatic machine used in factories and warehouses for taping corrugated boxes, sometimes called a carton sealer.
By introducing sealing machinery, applying tape in packaging operations can be made more efficient, thereby reducing manpower and space for work.
Inexpensive machines only perform the stretching tape function. Still, high-performance machines designed to be integrated into a production line can fold the flaps of corrugated boxes simultaneously.
Sealing machinery is widely used for assembling and taping cartons in production plants and e-commerce shipping warehouses.
The most common type is corrugated cardboard. Still, machines have been developed for various applications, including styrofoam, cans, and envelopes. They have unique functions, such as applying tape and glue to the sides and folding documents.
The introduction of sealing machinery not only reduces manpower but is also effective in improving the appearance of the packaging and preventing accidents due to inadequate packaging.
In the case of sealing machinery for corrugated boxes, the machine consists of a conveyor belt for transport, a folding flap section, and a tape unit.
The carton is placed on the conveyor belt with the product to be shipped packed in the carton with the bottom assembled, the carton is fed into the machine, and when it reaches the appropriate position, all flaps except for the top rear flap, or all flaps, are automatically folded. The carton with folded flaps is then fed to the tape unit, where the top surface is taped, and the carton is discharged from the machine.
In the random type, the machine's moving parts are adjusted by air cylinders or other devices according to the size of the box, making it possible to assemble boxes of various sizes and tape them.
Electricity is the power source for sealing machinery, but some products, such as the random type, require an air supply for automatic adjustment inside the machine.
