A gun nozzle is a nozzle that is connected to a hose.
It is shaped like a pistol so that it is easy to grasp by hand. Like a pistol, it has a trigger on the handle, and liquid or gas can be discharged by pulling the trigger lever.
There are two types of pistols: fully manual and auto-stop. The auto-stop type has a function that detects the liquid level and automatically stops the machine.
The auto stop type is commonly used to supply gasoline at gas stations.
Gun nozzles can be used by extending a hose from a high-pressure cleaner or pump and connecting the hose to the gun nozzles using a socket. If the discharge is air or other gases, an air hose and compressor are used.
They are mainly used when you want to supply liquid or gas manually, such as when you want to spray water on a field, wash a car with warm water, or dry paint with air.
Both manual and auto-stop types can be equipped with a flowmeter, which is used when you want to divide the liquid into small portions or measure the discharge volume.
There are two types of gun nozzles: fully manual type and auto-stop type, but the basic construction is much the same for both types.
Inside the gun nozzles are a channel for liquid or gas to pass through, and when the lever is not pulled, a valve blocks the channel. When the lever is pulled up, the pin connected to the lever is also pulled up, pushing up the valve inside the gun nozzles and opening the channel. The liquid or gas supplied to the gun nozzles is then injected from the tip of the nozzle.
In the case of the auto-stop type, a sensor to detect the liquid level is built into the gun nozzles, and there is a hole in the tip of the gun nozzles for detection.
When the tank is not filled with gasoline, air flows inside the gun nozzles because the detection hole at the tip is not blocked. When the tank is filled with gasoline, the tip of the gun nozzles are blocked by the gasoline, so air cannot flow inside the gun nozzles and a vacuum is created. Eventually, a built-in sensor detects the vacuum and automatically closes the flow channel by pushing up the valve on the gun nozzles.
