Stretch wrapping machinery wraps stretch film around pallets of packages or products.
The pallet is rotated, and stretch film is wrapped around the pallet in a circular motion.
There are several types of stretch-wrapping machinery. There are manual, semi-automatic, and fully automatic types that can be integrated into a production line. There are also self-propelled types and hand-lift types that can be used anywhere. Select the type best suited to your cargo, products, and work environment.
Stretch wrapping machinery is mainly used to protect packages and products.
By using stretch wrapping machinery to wrap stretch film, products are protected from rain, insects, and dirt. The strength of the stretch film wrapping can be changed, so the wrapping can be made tighter to prevent cargo from collapsing. Other benefits include unloading prevention and product appeal.
If you need to pack a large number of pallets of products in a factory, the introduction of stretch wrapping machinery will definitely improve the efficiency of packing work rather than manual labor.
It is important to select the appropriate type of machine after careful consideration of the work environment.
There are two main types of stretch-wrapping machinery.
Semi-automatic stretch wrapping machinery and fully automatic stretch wrapping machinery. The following is a description of the features and usage of each type.
The goods are set on the turntable (rotating cart) of the stretch wrapping machinery by a forklift or other means. Then, the edge of the film set in the machine is fixed or slightly wrapped around the package or pallet. When ready, the stretch wrapping machinery is operated. Once the number of wrapping layers and the vertical width of the film is set, the film is automatically moved up and down, and the film is wrapped. After wrapping is complete, the machine stops, the film is cut, and the operation is finished. Semi-automatic stretch wrapping machinery generally operates in this manner, requiring manual assistance during loading/unloading and film wrapping.
Pallets of goods are automatically transported to the stretch wrapping machinery by a pallet conveyor. Once the pallet is in position, an arm secures the film edge, and the turntable rotates in place. (The turntable then rotates, just as if the film were being wrapped while being held in place by hand.) When film wrapping is completed, the turntable stops at the designated position. The film is cut and fixed by the film-fixing device to complete the process. The film is then automatically conveyed downstream on the conveyor. Since the automatic stretch wrapping machinery is used as part of the line, no human intervention is required. However, maintenance work, such as following up in case of trouble and replacing the film, is necessary.
