What Is a Straight Reamer?

Since the blade is straight, the finished surface may be slightly cracked. The shape of the teeth differ among spiral reamers, which are sometimes used for similar machining, and the way the facets are produced differs. Spiral reamers have twisted teeth, and the facets during machining are directed from the tip of the machining section toward the entrance of the hole in the workpiece.
