Leak testers are inspection equipment and chemical products used to check for leaks in industrial products and various types of piping.
When called an inspection device, a leak tester electrically detects leaks, and when called a chemical product, a leak tester is one that visually detects leaks.
Generally, the former inspects " whether there is leakage throughout the entire product/piping. The latter inspects "where in the product/piping is there a leak."
Leak testers are used for inspections on production lines, refrigerant leak inspections of air conditioners, leak inspections of gas piping, etc.
For inspections on production lines, the "internal pressure type" pressurizes the inside of the product, and the "internal pressure chamber" places the product in a chamber and pressurizes the inside. The "external pressure type" that pressurizes the inside of the product is often used.
Leak testers of the "infrared absorption type," "semiconductor type," or liquid type are used to inspect leaks of products that are already in use, but the "infrared absorption type" is most commonly used for leaks of flammable or refrigerant gases.
In the case of the internal pressure type, the inside of the product is pressurized, and leakage is detected based on the presence or absence of pressure fluctuation from the pressure-holding state.
In the case of the "external pressure type," the product is placed inside a pressure vessel called a chamber. The chamber is pressurized to detect whether pressure escapes from the chamber to the inside of the product.
The "internal pressure chamber type" pressurizes the inside of the product placed in the chamber and detects pressure fluctuation inside the chamber.
Both the "infrared absorption type" and the "semiconductor type" detect gas mixed in the inhaled air to detect leakage, but the "infrared absorption type" has the advantage of short reaction time and the "semiconductor type" has high sensitivity and long life.
The inspection equipment is used to check for leaks, while the "leak location" must be inspected with a liquid leak tester or by submerging the product in water for a visual inspection. In this case, depending on the product, internal corrosion or oversight is possible due to the inspector's skill.
