An automatic weighing system is a device that weighs the amount of raw materials required for a production line, etc., and supplies a fixed amount automatically. A similar device is an automatic counting machine that measures the quantity of raw materials.
The device is equipped with a scale, and when the input raw material exceeds the standard amount of the scale, it stops feeding and separates the raw material to supply a fixed amount of raw material for the next process.
The introduction of an automatic weighing system can level out the measurement work that previously required skilled workers and will speed up the production line by eliminating the rate-limiting step.
Automatic weighing systems are widely used in factories to improve the efficiency of product production and to level the workload.
When a certain number of raw materials are required for the production of a certain product, the automatic weighing system can set a standard quantity to supply the line with a constant amount of raw materials without the need for manual labor.
Automatic weighing systems used for packaging food products, etc., weigh each individual product in advance and calculate the optimum combination of the specified quantities to minimize weight variation from package to package.
There are two main principles of the automatic weighing system.
One is for liquids, powders, etc. The purpose is to feed a certain amount of the supplied material into the line, and the feeding is controlled by taking into account various factors such as the physical properties of the material, the passage of time, and various types of disturbances. To improve accuracy, the system is designed so that no material is left behind when feeding the line.
The other is for foodstuffs and other items with individually different weights. The raw materials are fed into a stock hopper, and then sent to a weighing hopper, where they are weighed. When feeding the line, the sum of the combinations of raw materials in each weighing hopper is calculated, and the most appropriate combination is selected. It is then fed by comparing it with the preset settings. New material is fed into the selected weigh hopper, and the best combination is calculated and fed again, thus ensuring a stable supply of material to the line.
