About This Product
This kit is a research ELISA kit for detecting human IgA antibodies that recognize the spike protein (S1) of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.
There are two main approaches to virus detection: methods that detect the virus itself, such as PCR methods, and methods that detect the immune response (IgG, IgM, IgA) that occurs during infection. IgA is particularly abundant in mucous membranes such as saliva and the nasopharynx, and generally has the function of preventing infection.
■Measurement principle
- React the recombinant SARS-CoV-2 spike (S1) protein on the immobilized plate with the antibody in the sample that recognizes it (hereinafter abbreviated as anti-spike protein antibody).
・After the reaction, remove the sample by washing.
・React the anti-spike protein antibody on the immobilized plate with the HRP (Horseradish peroxidase) labeled anti-human IgA antibody.
・Remove excess HRP-labeled anti-human IgA antibody by washing. Add chromogenic substrate and measure absorbance.

・R-1: Chromogenic substrate (TMB) 22 ml × 2
・R-2: Reaction stop solution (1 mol/L hydrochloric acid) 22 ml × 2
