About This Product
This kit is a research ELISA kit for detecting human IgM and human IgG antibodies that recognize the nucleocapsid protein of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.
There are two main approaches to virus detection: methods that detect the virus itself, such as PCR methods, and methods that detect the immune response (IgG, IgM, IgA) that occurs during infection. In common infectious diseases, IgM is an antibody that is produced during the initial stage of infection and disappears as the symptoms ease. IgG production begins later than IgM and continues to be produced for several months even after healing. This is known to lessen symptoms and prevent the next infection.
■Measurement principle
- React the recombinant SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein on the immobilized plate with the antibody in the sample that recognizes it (hereinafter abbreviated as anti-nucleocapsid protein antibody).
・After the reaction, remove the sample by washing.
・React the anti-nucleocapsid protein antibody on the immobilized plate with the HRP (Horseradish peroxidase) labeled anti-human IgM/IgG antibody.
・Remove excess HRP-labeled anti-human IgM/IgG antibody by washing. Add chromogenic substrate and measure absorbance.

・Diluent buffer (10 ×) 50 ml × 2
・R-1: Chromogenic substrate (TMB) 22 ml × 2
・R-2: Reaction stop solution (1 mol/L hydrochloric acid) 22 ml × 2
・Microplate seal x 2
