A silicone adhesive is an adhesive composed of silicone polymer and a silicone resin that imparts adhesiveness.
Typically, silicone polymer alone has low adhesive strength, so silicone resin is added to adjust the stickiness. Once cured, it exhibits rubber-like elasticity and is known for its high insulating properties, also referred to as silicone sealant.
Characterized by its heat resistance, elasticity, and electrical insulation, silicone adhesive has a wide range of operating temperatures. There are various types available, including easily removable ones and those capable of bonding silicone rubber. In addition to its waterproof and heat-resistant properties, it can also be used on silicone materials, which are generally difficult to bond with standard adhesives. Moreover, it dries while maintaining its elasticity, making it more shock-absorbent and strengthening the bond.
