About This Product

This is a mechanical polishing device for preparing thin specimens for transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Ideal when using an ion milling device as the final stage of sample preparation.

■Features

・Ideal for pre-polishing of ion milling ・Automatically control grinding rate ・Outstanding final polishing accuracy (±1μm) ・Automatic control of polishing work with built-in microprocessor ・Possible to observe sample positioning and sample preparation using a 40x microscope ・With a wide range of polishing tools, it is possible to polish difficult materials. ・A wide range of dimples and flat polishing possible ・Display the sample thickness during processing in real time on the liquid crystal panel ・Built-in automatic stop mechanism after reaching the desired final sample thickness ・A wide variety of polishing tools (wheels) are available to enable polishing of all materials and to handle large samples (<5mm). - Built-in grinding rate automatic control function automatically lowers the grinding pins according to the hardness of the material to be polished, so there is no damage to the sample. ・Polishing with a timer is also possible. In this case, the rotation speed of the grinding wheel and the descending speed of the grinding pin are automatically adjusted according to the set time. - At the start and end of polishing, the polishing wheel is automatically raised by 250μm to prevent damage to the sample and polishing ends. ・By thinning the sample to a certain extent using a dimple grinder, it is possible to shorten the time required for ion milling.
