■Industry-First Housing That Helps Prevent InfectionThe special plastic allows safe wiping with the harshest and strongest disinfectants currently used in hospitals. It also covers screw holes and seams where bacteria can easily hide even after wiping, preventing the spread of germs.

■Flexible Feedback Modes, Including a Vibrating Night ModeFrom intensive care units to quiet night shifts and busy day shifts, you can choose the best option from a variety of easily managed feedback modes designed for every kind of healthcare setting. Staff can confirm a successful scan using modes such as haptic/vibration feedback, a good-decode LED, a conventional beeper with adjustable volume and frequency, and Zebra's Direct Decode Indicator, which illuminates the barcode.

■Scans Barcodes in Any ConditionBy combining a high-resolution megapixel sensor with Zebra's proprietary PRZM Intelligent Imaging technology, the DS8100-HC Series instantly captures even the most challenging barcodes used in pharmacies, laboratories, and at the point of care - high-density, small, curved-surface, poorly printed, glossy, wrinkled, faded, distorted, dirty, or scratched barcodes, as well as electronic barcodes on dimly lit screens.

■Safe, Eye-Friendly LED AimingWith highly visible and safe LED-based aiming, the DS8100-HC Series can be used throughout the hospital, including in NICUs (neonatal intensive care units) where laser aiming is undesirable. The green aiming also reduces the likelihood of triggering PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) episodes.

■Interchangeable Power OptionsTwo compatible power options, the PowerPrecision+ battery and the PowerCap capacitor, can both supply power to your device. On every model, the power option can be swapped in the field at any time, so there is no need to purchase separate battery-free or battery-equipped devices.
