Product features
■Support for an even wider variety of code systemsWith the default settings it can read JAN codes (commercially sold products and the like), NW-7 (courier waybills and the like), Code39, Code128 (in-house slips and the like), and more. With separate settings, codes such as GS1 DataBar and GS1 DataBar Limited can also be read. In addition, an upgraded reading engine has improved recognition accuracy for reading from LCD screens, for wide codes, and for codes with a low print contrast level.

■Simple connection, simple setupBecause it is a mid-range barcode reader, unlike touch types it can read at a distance. It is recognized using the same driver as a keyboard, so no special configuration is needed; just connect it and it can be used right away. The supplied setup manual is in Japanese.

■Hands-free mode built in.A hands-free (automatic illumination) function that allows reading without pulling the trigger is built in. In environments where both hands are not free, or when the scanner is used fixed in place, holding the barcode over the illumination port enables illumination without pulling the trigger. (Depending on the surrounding brightness and the angle, correct recognition may not be possible.)

■A variety of customizable settingsSettings such as the volume of the read tone and the startup tone, and customization of the characters added to the beginning (prefix) or the end (suffix) of the barcode data, are possible. There are no difficult settings; configuration is done simply by reading barcodes from the manual.
