About This Product

■Summary

This is a machine that applies a new concept of friction welding technology, applying the technical capabilities cultivated in friction welding. Friction overlay is a method of directly overlaying material softened by frictional heat onto the surface of a plate. Surface modification by friction build-up forms various coating layers on the metal surface, adding corrosion resistance, wear resistance, etc.

■Process

①Initial process Set the materials on both sides, rotate one material, move it forward, and bring it into contact with the other material. ②Frictional heat generation process Frictional heat is generated from the butt surfaces. Once the temperature suitable for joining is reached, one side of the material is fed horizontally and overlaid.

■Features

- Solid phase bonding. - Due to intense plastic flow, the overlay layer becomes fine and homogeneous. - It is possible to create and modify relatively thick layers. - No dilution of base material. - Easy to automate and does not require skilled technology. - Environmentally friendly with no spatter or fume generation.
