About This Product

■Summary

Electrical conductivity is important for characterizing liquids in various processes. In aqueous solutions, conductivity results from the decomposition of dissolved acids, bases, or salts into positive cations and negative anions. Ultrapure water, which has no ions except for very small amounts of H3O+ and OH-, has very low electrical conductivity. This inherent electrical conductivity of water represents the lower end of the scale. Electrical conductivity is determined by resistivity measurements when an alternating voltage is applied to a measuring cell consisting of two or four electrodes. Cell constants are used to correct the shape of the conductivity cell. This constant is either known or determined by a conductivity standard. Electrical conductivity is the reciprocal of electrical resistivity and measures a material's ability to conduct electric current. Its SI unit is Siemens per meter (S/m). When measuring electrical conductivity, it is common to use μS/cm or mS/cm.

■Features

The Conducell 4UxF sensor is suitable for measurements in hygienic applications. The wetted parts of the sensor body are PEEK, which is easily cleaned and can withstand CIP cleaning and autoclaving. The sensor exhibits very good linearity over a wide measurement range. Conducell 4USF with stainless steel electrodes is the most common. This sensor is suitable for a variety of applications in the biopharmaceutical, water, or food industries. Designed with a length suitable for flow cells employed in downstream processes of cell culture.
