■SummaryBiological processes are becoming increasingly important in biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. Due to the diversity of organisms, it is difficult to standardize the cultivation process. Stable cell culture, fermentation, and yield improvement require extensive process optimization and control. Today's bioprocess development relies on the necessary sampling and off-line measurements to optimize yields.

Online monitoring of cell density provides the continuous information needed to optimize yield with greater control than is possible offline. The Incyte Arc dielectric sensor provides information about viable cell density, while the Dencytee sensor measures total cell density via turbidity. Live-cell and whole-cell sensors, in combination with pH and dissolved oxygen probes, provide all relevant information about processes in mammalian, yeast, and high-density bacterial cultures.

■Incyte ArcIncyte Arc sensors provide real-time live cell density measurements and provide actionable data to automate process control. This is not possible with traditional offline measurements.

Incyte Arc is Hamilton's next-generation live cell density sensor that provides precision permittivity measurements in combination with an integrated microtransmitter that leverages ArcAir technology. The Arc Wi 2G Adapter BT (REF 243470) is required to output analog 4-20 mA signals from digital Modbus communication. To enable OPC communication, you need an Arc Wi 1G adapter BT (REF 242360) and an Arc Modbus OPC converter (REF 10089359).
