A DC axial fan is a device used to control the temperature inside a device for the purpose of discharging heat generated inside a device to the outside. Conversely, for the purpose of supplying air to the inside from environmental heat outside the device.
In general, if the heat treatment of electronic components that generate heat by operating or driving equipment is left unattended, the electronic components inside the equipment may fail or be damaged in the worst-case scenario. Also, as the airflow rate increases, there is a region where the slope changes significantly, which is called the swirling stall region. The power consumption and sound pressure level also change around this region. When an axial fan is used, the operating range is from the swirl stall area to the maximum airflow, allowing the fan to be used within a relatively low range of power consumption and sound pressure level.
In contrast, the relationship between air volume and static pressure of a blower is that air flows along the inside of the case, which allows for higher static pressure than an axial flow fan of equivalent size, but at the same time, air volume tends to be lower. In addition, the fan does not have the swirl stall area of axial fans, and the static pressure decreases as the airflow rate increases. Power consumption increases monotonically with increasing airflow and is highest at the maximum airflow. The sound pressure level of the blower tends to be quietest in the middle of the maximum airflow range. Since blowers do not have a swirling stall region, they can generally be used in a wide range of applications. Also, since the sound pressure level is quietest in the middle of the maximum airflow range, the blower should be operated in this range if low noise is a concern.
