Insulation board is a building material made from wood that excels in heat insulation and sound absorption.
Also called soft fiber material, it is made from regular wood that is broken into small pieces until it becomes fibrous, then synthetic resin is added and hardened with an adhesive to improve heat insulation and sound absorption.
Although easy to process and install, the use of wood has the disadvantage of absorbing water and moisture, making it prone to mold. As a countermeasure, a building material called sheathing insulation board, to which asphalt has been added, has also been produced.
Insulation board is used as a durable insulation material for the base material of interiors and furniture heartwood. Since wood is used as the raw material, it is characterized by the porous nature of wood fibers, making it suitable for use as a building material with excellent sound absorption properties for interior applications.
Because of its excellent cushioning properties and ease of processing, it is also used for packing materials and curing boards (protective materials used to prevent damage to walls and floors when loading and unloading equipment into and out of buildings).
