About This Product

■Summary

Hallite's VSS is a spring-loaded, single-pressure shaft seal designed for rotational applications. It consists of a U-shaped flanged seal jacket, a V-shaped metal spring, and an O-ring. Proprietary carbon fiber filled PTFE jacket material H82 and tandem lip design eliminate stick-slip phenomenon with low friction, providing high scratch resistance design and long life. The O-ring creates high friction between the seal jacket and the mounting groove, preventing rotation with the shaft. At no load or under low pressure, the V-spring provides the necessary load on the sealing lip to create the appropriate contact pressure. When the operating pressure increases, the U-shaped area receives the system pressure and affects the sealing performance at high pressure. Additionally, metal springs have excellent chemical resistance and can withstand a wide temperature range, maintaining spring load for a long period of time.
