About This Product

■SummaryAnisotropic ferrite magnets are permanent magnets made of iron oxide (main raw material), barium, strontium, etc. It is manufactured by molding material that has been pulverized to about 1μ, and there are two methods of molding: wet and dry, with the wet method having stronger magnetic force. Additionally, since molding is performed in a magnetic field, the magnetic flux is directed in a certain direction. Although their magnetic properties are lower than rare earth magnets, they are widely used because they are inexpensive.

■FeaturesAnisotropic ferrite magnets have three characteristics: ``cheap,'' ``resistant to demagnetization,'' and ``usable even at high temperatures (below 200 degrees Celsius).'' Since it is a ceramic material, it does not corrode and does not require surface treatment, but it is sensitive to impact and has poor mechanical strength. However, unlike isotropic ferrite magnets, the magnetic flux is oriented in a fixed direction, so the magnetic force is stronger.

Ferrite magnets have a lower residual magnetic flux density than alnico magnets, but have a higher coercive force, so they are often used in relatively thin shapes.
