About This Product

■While maintaining the high resolution (A/B phase) of the conventional product SMD-01B, an origin detection function (Z phase) has been added and the operating temperature range has been expanded.

SMD-04B is a high-precision optical encoder IC that uses a diffraction image projection method. SMD-04B has an OEIC (Opto-Electric Integrated Circuit) and LED mounted in one package. The relative movement between the SMD-04B and the scale is detected by projecting the light emitted from the LED onto the scale and receiving the diffraction image of the reflected light with a photodiode. Furthermore, by providing a pattern for origin detection on the scale, the Z phase, which is the origin signal, is output. Additionally, by arranging the photodiodes in the light receiving section, we reduce the deterioration of phase characteristics due to mounting precision.
