There are two types of abrasives used in the buffing process for super finishing after diamond abrasives. Each has its own characteristics and compatibility with samples, so please use the information below as a reference.
■Alumina suspension
This abrasive is mainly suitable for iron and hard materials. Colloidal silica: An abrasive mainly suitable for nonferrous materials and soft materials such as copper, aluminum, and substrates. Because the liquid itself tends to crystallize, it is a little difficult to handle and must be cleaned quickly after polishing. Each type has a different particle size, so it is necessary to select one based on the difference in particle size from the previous process.
This suspension is mainly suitable for iron and hard materials. The product comes as a undiluted solution, and we recommend diluting it approximately 7 to 10 times with water before use. Alumina liquid tends to precipitate over time, so shake it well before use.
