All SUSPA hydraulic dampers (also known as shock absorbers, industrial dampers or vibration dampers) are designed to achieve optimal motion or vibration characteristics for each product application. With decades of experience in damper technology, we offer customized solutions for vibration and shock damping.
■What is a hydraulic damper?
A hydraulic damper is a type of buffer member. By converting the kinetic energy of the parts into thermal energy, it prevents violent collisions and excessive amplitude.
■Structure of hydraulic damper
Hydraulic dampers are also called hydraulic damping devices because they consist of a pressure tube, a piston rod with a special piston system, and oil as a damping medium. There is a special seal and guide unit in the oil-filled pressure tube that seals the internal space of the hydraulic damper against outside air (even under extreme environmental conditions).
■Buffering power
When the piston rod moves, the damping medium oil is pushed through the holes in the piston system. The resistance of oil as it flows through the piston system creates a buffering force. Due to the internal structure of the piston system, the pulling and pushing directions can be set independently of each other. The damping force is determined by the piston speed.
■Hydraulic damper characteristic line
By setting the linearity to increasing or decreasing type characteristic lines, it is possible to configure the hydraulic damper to suit the application. All hydraulic dampers developed by SUSPA are designed to achieve optimal motion or vibration characteristics for the respective product application.
