About This Product
■ The structure and principle of the strongest locking nut "Bollock Nut"
1. When the nut tries to loosen counterclockwise due to vibration, the tiny built-in balls use a clutch mechanism to create a wedge effect, preventing the nut from turning and loosening. There is no backlash at this time.
2. The slope angle of the built-in ball is designed to be larger than the "screw lead angle," which is the angle at which the screw rises one step after turning.
3. When the nut is tightened, the built-in ball automatically moves to the deepest part of the groove, and the bottom surface of the nut and the top of the ball head are tight, so there is no gap between the nut and the floor, which does not affect the tightening axial force.
■ Nut that does not loosen even after 1 million vibration tests (3-dimensional vertical and horizontal directions)
In the loosening vibration test, for example, the Junker vibration test applies only lateral vibrations, but the vibrations that bolts receive are inherently complex, and it is meaningless unless the bolts are also shaken in the axial direction (vertical direction). At our company, we carry out severe vibration tests in which the test equipment is suspended in space and simultaneously subjected to vertical and horizontal "three-dimensional vibrations."
The strength of the vibration is such that if it is a "normal nut" that does not take measures to loosen it, it will begin to loosen within 3 seconds.
■ Vibration test condition data
・Bolt diameter: M16
・Bolt and nut material: SCM435
・Frequency: 100Hz
・Number of vibrations: 1,000,000 times (1 million times)
・Simultaneous 3D vibration in vertical and horizontal directions
While anti-loosening nuts made by other companies loosen after 1,100 to 2,300 vibrations, PLARADO's Bollock Nut has withstood 1 million vibrations, proving its overwhelming vibration resistance.
■ Efficiency of tightening work
1. Since it uses the rotational friction of the ball, there is no need for large torque when loosening the nut, and it is designed to be loosened by 105% to 110% when tightening. Therefore no special tools are required.
2. There is no limit to the tightening torque, so there is no problem using any manual, power tool, or impact wrench.
3. Unlike double nuts, there is no need to change the tightening torque values for the upper and lower nuts, and there is no need to make installation mistakes.
4. A double nut tightens two nuts, which doubles the installation time, but a Bolloc nut allows for quick bolt tightening with a single nut.
5. Both the nut type and the washer type can be used repeatedly: Our experiments show that the function does not deteriorate even after more than 10 times.
■ Compatible bolt size: M14 to M100
■ Specifications/Materials
・Type 1 nut coarse thread
・Material: SCM435 (chromium molybdenum steel)
・Surface treatment: Trivalent chromate finish
■ Points to note
If you will be tightening and loosening frequently, please choose a Bollock washer to prevent excessive damage to the floor surface. It does not leave any scratches on the floor other than push marks. This washer has its own non-rotating mechanism and will never scratch the floor. In this case, do not use Bollock nuts, but use regular commercially available nuts.
- There is no need to purchase nuts and washers at the same time. Each is separate and used alone.
・The model number of the Bollock washer, which is a separate product, is different.
