About This Product

Elcometer 260 is a low-cost, quick and inexpensive device for inspecting pinholes in paint films. It is battery operated and the exterior of the main body is made of durable aluminum. "The Elcometer 260 UV lamp's 3-watt UV light-emitting diode has a wavelength of 405nm (±5nm), which appears violet to the human eye. A special diffusing lens produces a smooth image (no interference fringes or mottling). National Surface Treatment Center certified safety glasses will be worn during the examination to improve contrast. The 260 UV lamp is a reliable device that is essential for accurate visual inspection. The Elcometer 260 UV lamp can detect pinholes in both top and base coats. An additive that reflects UV rays is added to the base coat. When inspecting fluorescent primer paint, pinholes appear black or gray. When inspecting non-fluorescent topcoats, look for bright spots. This is because the primer paint shines through the pinholes.
