Industrial Lubricating Oil Premium Refrigeration Oil for HCFC Atmos (N)
FUJI KOSAN COMPANY, LTD.

About This Product

■Product Overview

Atmos (N) is a premium refrigeration oil based on alkylbenzene and refined mineral oil. It offers excellent low-temperature performance together with good heat resistance, and is a highly stable oil that resists sludge formation. It delivers outstanding performance in lubricating the high-performance refrigeration machines that have recently become more compact with greater capacity, and can be used with confidence in quick-freezing equipment and very large refrigerators. Four grades are available according to viscosity at 40°C: 22 (N), 32 (N), 46 (N), and 68 (N). It can be used in a wide range of reciprocating, rotary, and turbo refrigeration machines that use HCFC refrigerants such as R22. Features

■Excellent Low-Temperature Performance

Atmos (N) has a low pour point and can be used in refrigeration machines with low evaporation temperatures. In addition, because it contains no wax, its floc point is low and no wax precipitates in expansion valves or evaporators, allowing use with confidence.

■High Chemical and Thermal Stability with Refrigerants

Refrigeration oils with low stability react with the refrigerant at high temperatures, forming sludge and accelerating decomposition of the refrigerant. Because Atmos (N) uses alkylbenzene, a synthetic oil, together with refined mineral oil as its base materials, it is extremely stable toward refrigerants. It also resists carbonization even under high-temperature thin-film conditions such as at the discharge valve, so it can be applied with confidence to compressors with large refrigeration loads.

■Excellent Miscibility with Refrigerants

A refrigeration oil must not separate from the refrigerant in the condenser and must return readily from the evaporator to the compressor. This requires the oil to dissolve well in the refrigerant, and through the action of alkylbenzene, Atmos (N) dissolves well in HCFC refrigerants such as R22, working effectively in particular with low-temperature refrigeration machines.

■Rapid Separation from the Refrigerant with Little Foaming

The refrigerant must dissolve in the oil to an appropriate degree, but at the same time it must separate quickly from the oil when it evaporates. Because Atmos (N) has excellent separability from the refrigerant, foaming can be kept to a minimum.

■Contains No Water

Atmos (N) is completely dehydrated before being filled into dedicated containers and shipped, so its water content is extremely low and it has high dielectric strength. As a result, there is no icing of expansion valves or corrosion of equipment parts, and even when used in a hermetic refrigeration machine it does not cause a drop in motor insulation.

■Types

Atmos (N) is available in four grades: 22 (N), 32 (N), 46 (N), and 68 (N).
