■Product Overview

FBK Turbine was the first inhibited turbine oil to be produced domestically in Japan. It offers the excellent quality and performance required for lubricating modern thermal power turbines driven by high-temperature, high-pressure steam. It is a high-quality lubricant that can be used widely not only for nuclear, steam, gas, and hydraulic turbines but also for lubricating various industrial machines and as a hydraulic fluid. ■Excellent Oxidation Stability

When a lubricant is used continuously for a long time, it degrades and produces sludge that harms machine operation. Steam turbines in modern thermal power plants, which run at high temperature and high pressure, require a turbine oil with a long service life and outstanding oxidation stability so that turbine-oil-related failures are avoided and the oil does not need to be replaced for several years or more. FBK Turbine has excellent oxidation stability that withstands long-term use even under severe conditions, and its thermal stability is also good. This has been proven by its early adoption and excellent results at many thermal and hydroelectric power plants operated by electric utilities.

■Excellent Rust Prevention

When water enters the lubrication system, it causes rust in the system and threatens smooth operation. FBK Turbine provides excellent rust protection through a powerful rust inhibitor, so no rust forms in the system even during long periods of continuous use.

■Excellent Foam Suppression

Foaming of lubricants and hydraulic fluids occurs when the oil and air are vigorously agitated, when air is drawn in through a non-airtight section of piping, or when air and other gases dissolved in the oil are suddenly released. Investigating the cause of foaming and taking countermeasures comes first, but the oil itself is also expected to dissipate any foam that forms quickly. FBK Turbine is fortified with an anti-foam agent for this purpose and shows excellent performance in practice.

■Good Demulsibility and Water Separability

Lubricants often emulsify when water enters, making operation unstable, so in practice an oil that resists emulsification and readily separates from entrained water is desirable. FBK Turbine has excellent water separation performance, so emulsification problems caused by water ingress do not occur.

■Good Viscosity and Temperature Characteristics and Low-Temperature Properties

FBK Turbine shows little viscosity change with temperature and has a low pour point, so it also delivers outstanding performance as a hydraulic fluid.
