About This Product

■New probe for mitochondrial function

Biolog's Mitoplate provides a powerful new research tool. Perform 96 preconfigured mitochondrial function assays in a single experiment. Mitochondria can be examined using new methods to determine characteristics such as the speed of substrate metabolism, sensitivity to drugs and chemicals, and the effects of mutations in mitochondria-related genes.

■Simple assay

・Step 1: Prepare the assay mixture containing the membrane permeabilization solution and redox dye and dispense it into each well using a pipette. Step 2: Add 2x cell suspension to each well and begin the assay. ・Step 3: Set the mitoplate on Odin™ (measuring device) and automatically measure the speed of purple color development over time.

■Features and benefits

・Mitoplate is preset with 96 types of substrates. -Use Mitoplate to determine the effects of substrates and inhibitors on mitochondrial function. - Simple and easy-to-use protocol for any type of cell, including adherent cells, suspension cells, transformed cells, and primary cells. - Possible with as few cells as 20,000 to 40,000 per well. -Tetrazolium redox dyes can be easily analyzed colorimetrically as final electron acceptors. ・Odin™ (measuring device) incubates plates under temperature control and automatically measures kinetic data of multiple plates (measurement every 15 minutes for 50 plates, every 4 minutes for 16 plates).

■Omnilog system and analysis software

Using Odin™ (measuring device) and the included dedicated software, real-time electron flow measurements and kinetic analysis are possible. The device can simultaneously incubate up to 50 Mitoplates, perform automated measurements, and analyze experimental data with powerful analysis tools.
