About This Product

■Summary

The MA782 detects the absolute angular position of a permanent magnet (usually a diametrically magnetized cylinder on a rotating shaft). The sensor is optimized for applications requiring low average power with power cycling capabilities. Timing can be controlled by an on-chip clock or an external controller. Flags can be used to detect definable angular changes. MA782 is compatible with a wide range of magnetic field strengths and spatial configurations. Both end-of-axis and off-axis (sideshaft) mounting configurations are available. The MA782 features magnetic field strength sensing with a programmable threshold, allowing the position of the magnet relative to the sensor to be detected to create functions such as axial motion detection and diagnostics. On-chip nonvolatile memory (NVM) stores configuration parameters such as the reference zero angular position, power cycling parameters, filter windows that affect output resolution, and magnetic field detection thresholds. The MA782 is available in a QFN-14 (2mm x 2mm) package.
