About This Product
■Features
Low torque, excellent heat resistance, abrasion resistance, chemical resistance, solvent resistance, and oil resistance. Depending on the conditions, it can exhibit better performance than synthetic rubber OIL SEAL. And it can be used at high circumferential speeds. It is also suitable for highly viscous fluids and is pressure resistant.
Applications include agitators (mixers, etc.), chemical pumps, blowers, vacuum pumps, and food machinery.
Although it can be used with almost all fluids, please note that it is affected by molten alkali metals (sodium, potassium, etc.), fluorine gas under high temperature and pressure, and some organic halogen compounds.
performance
■Friction coefficient is small and stable. Also, no abnormal noise occurs.
It is extremely effective when stable frictional force is required over a wide speed range, or when poor lubrication causes stick-slip and abnormal noise.
■Improves heat resistance.
The temperature of the lip depends on the atmosphere, the temperature of the liquid being sealed, and the heat generated by sliding motion, and the heat resistance of the seal itself depends on the heat resistance temperature of the lip material. Fluororesin (PTFE) has a higher heat resistance temperature (260℃) than synthetic rubber, and has a lower frictional force, so it generates less heat due to sliding, which is an added advantage.
■Improves wear resistance.
It exhibits better wear resistance than synthetic rubber seals when the lip part is insufficiently lubricated. Even if the lubrication temporarily runs out or there is poor lubrication, there is little friction on the lip, so you can expect a long life.
■Improved pressure resistance.
Since the lip part is made of fluororesin (PTFE), it is difficult to deform even when pressure is applied, and has excellent wear resistance, so it has excellent pressure resistance.
■Regarding the eccentricity limit.
Fluoropolymer (PTFE) has less elasticity than rubber, so the eccentricity limit is lower than synthetic rubber lip seals.
