About This Product

■Ehon (Picture Book) (Class A1 (porcelain), glazed)On a white body formed from the white clay of the Mino region, resembling drawing paper, designs evoking water and rain are applied with paints that occasionally bleed, giving the tile the gentle world of a picture book. Each piece has its own subtle variation, creating a narrative world that only handmade production can produce. This is an art tile we highly recommend to anyone looking for special decoration for spaces such as shop interiors.

■The Story Behind EhonThere are 12 designs in the Ehon series in total. The designer gave shape to each image one by one, and each design is accompanied by an onomatopoeic word.

"After the rain it cleared up; and although something sad happened, crying made me feel refreshed." It is an ordinary little story, but by giving form once again to an image that had been put into words (onomatopoeia), we found something interesting in the act of re-examining a sensation.

Ehon is a packaged product that combines a fixed selection of tiles (about 0.5 m2 worth) into a set. Two package types are available: Fragment, which includes randomly shaped offcut tiles, and Plain Pack, which does not, each sold as a set by the color of the patterned tiles.

■Key Notes・Laid out with joints of about 3 mm throughout, the package covers about 0.5 m2
・The patterned tiles and offcut tiles are produced entirely by hand, from forming through painting, so they include the distortion, dimensional differences, and pattern variations characteristic of handmade items; please enjoy these as the character of handcrafted products
・The offcut tiles are all randomly shaped, so they cannot be laid out at even intervals
・Always carry out a trial layout before installation
・The number of tiles, the patterns, and the colors included in each package are fixed, so if you are considering additional purchases or the use of patterns not included in the package, please purchase them separately as individual pieces
・Offcut tiles are not sold separately
・Install with adhesive
・The surface has fine unevenness, so wipe marks from grout tend to remain; avoid using black-toned grout
・Ancillary materials such as adhesive and grout are not included in the package
