About This Product

Posichron is an extremely robust, absolute, non-contact position detector. It also addresses applications that are not possible using other methods. Various structures are available (rod type, rectangular parallelepiped type, flat type) to accommodate various installation situations.

■Product features

・No wear, no maintenance - Resistant to dirt, dust, and humidity ・IP68/69K possible - Resistant to vibration and shock ・Linearity maximum ±0.02% ・Detection distance up to 5,750mm

■Sensor principle

Posichron sensors consist of a magnetostrictive waveguide and a non-contact position magnet. Elastic waves are generated in the waveguide due to the interaction between the magnetic field created by passing a pulsed current in the waveguide and the magnetic field of the position magnet. This elastic wave is detected by the sensor's detector, and the position of the position magnet is determined by measuring the time from pulse current generation to detection of the elastic wave.
