About This Product

■Characteristics of the high-frequency heating type temperature programmed desorption analyzer IH-TDS1700

The IH-TDS1700 high-frequency heating temperature programmable desorption spectrometer uses a quadrupole mass spectrometer (QMS) to detect molecules that are desorbed when a sample is heated programmatically by electromagnetic induction heating in an ultra-high vacuum environment (10-7 Pa or less). ) is an analysis device that performs real-time observation. Due to the ultra-high vacuum environment, highly sensitive observation of desorbed components is possible under ideal conditions where the effects of side reactions (*) are suppressed. *This device was developed with support from the Ichimura Innovation Technology Foundation. A reaction that occurs between a sample heated during measurement and atmospheric components, or a reaction that occurs between a component desorbed from a sample and an atmospheric component. It can efficiently heat metal materials such as steel, and can measure temperatures exceeding 1,700℃. Low-temperature TDS measurements of diffusible hydrogen in steel, which is a factor in hydrogen embrittlement (delayed fracture) in steel materials, are also possible. The device itself is automatically controlled by a PLC (Programmable Logic Controller), and a touch panel is used as the interface.

■Equipped with load lock chamber

A load-lock chamber is essential for high measurement efficiency (high throughput) and high sensitivity. Our load lock chamber and sample transport mechanism allow only the sample to be quickly introduced into the ultra-high vacuum analysis chamber. Without a load-lock chamber, the analysis chamber must be vented to the atmosphere every time a sample is replaced. Once the analysis chamber is opened to the atmosphere, a large amount of atmospheric components (particularly moisture) will be adsorbed inside the analysis chamber, and it will take a long time to fully evacuate the chamber.

■Low-temperature TDS measurement of diffusible hydrogen in steel

Since it is possible to measure cooled steel specimens, it is possible to quantify with high precision without escaping the diffusible hydrogen of BCC steel, which has a large hydrogen diffusion coefficient. Frost builds up on cooled steel specimens, and the detachment of this frost affects the hydrogen signal, contributing to errors in the diffusible hydrogen content (increasing uncertainty). The IH-TDS1700's cold trap (optional) traps frost to minimize the effects of frost, making it possible to obtain a diffusive hydrogen desorption spectrum with less distortion.

■Quantification of desorbed gas

Desorption gas can be quantified using a data processing program. To quantify the desorbed gas, it is necessary to periodically calibrate the sensitivity of the mass spectrometer.
