The 2035 Process Analyzer for Temperature Titration performs titrations automatically using a fast-acting, sensitive temperature sensor. Instead of electrochemical potential difference, the end point is determined by the use of enthalpy, i.e., by measuring the change in temperature of the solution during titration. Temperature titration is a very robust titration method in this market and has proven to perform very well in 24/7 online process applications, e.g. monitoring of etching baths. No sensor calibration is required and the cleaning process is simple. This method allows for quick investigation. For example, an analysis of a mixture of acids can be completed within 3 minutes. Temperature titrations can be used to perform multiple titrations and, because the temperature sensor is robust, are well suited for example with aggressive sample substances. Residues and other undesirable interactions are kept to a minimum, and the sensor does not require maintenance as it does not have the membrane or diaphragm problems associated with other titration methods. Temperature titration is a solution for difficult samples where potentiometric titration is not possible and is the preferred method for samples containing hydrogen fluoride.
