■Description

The LPMS-U2 sensor series is a series of compact 9-axis IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit)/Attitude and Orientation Reference System (AHRS) with various communication interfaces such as USB, RS232, TTL, and CAN bus. This series of units is highly versatile and performs accurate and fast directional and relative displacement measurements. Using three different MEMS sensors (3-axis gyroscope, 3-axis accelerometer, and 3-axis magnetometer) provides low-drift, high-speed orientation data on all three axes. Additionally, temperature and barometric pressure allow for accurate altitude measurements. The LPMS-U2 series can communicate with host systems via USB, RS232, TTL, or CAN bus connections. Depending on sensor configuration, data transfer rates of up to 400Hz can be achieved. This series is suitable for both machine and human motion measurements in size and cost sensitive applications. All sensors are equipped with a 32-bit digital signal processor that can perform all calculations onboard and in real time. For more information about our sensor fusion method, please see the IMUcore description. In particular, the LPMS-CU2 sensor's CAN bus interface allows the sensor to be connected to a larger CAN bus infrastructure. The sensor supports a minimal CANopen implementation and a customizable sequential CAN message format. All sensor parameter settings are freely configurable using our LPMS-Control software.
