About This Product

The LPMS inertial measurement unit is capable of fast and accurate 3D orientation sensing. Supports various communication interfaces and enclosure options.

■Description

The LP-RESEARCH motion sensor LPMS-IG1 series is a high precision 9-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU)/AHRS system with USB/CAN/RS232/RS485 connectivity in an IP67 rated enclosure (waterproof). We also offer a GPS receiver as an optional feature. This series is extremely versatile and performs accurate and fast directional measurements. The output of three independent low-noise single-axis gyroscopes is fused with 3-axis accelerometer and magnetometer data to provide low-drift, low-latency 3D orientation information. Since low-noise gyroscopes only support angular speeds up to 400dps, we have integrated an additional 3-axis gyroscope into the device that supports speeds up to 2000dps. The user can select a gyroscope to use as the orientation data source. For more information about our sensor fusion method, please see the IMUcore description. It fuses IMU, GPS, and vehicle mileage data to provide customized algorithms for using LPMS-IG1 series sensors as dead reckoning sensors for AGV and automotive applications. The LPMS-IG1 series connects to the host via USB communication or optionally using CAN bus, RS232, or RS485 connections. When ordering this component, please specify your preference with a different sensor part number. All sensor parameters and data transfer options can be controlled with our IG1-Control software. We offer extensive library support to interface directly to Windows/Linux PCs or embedded systems.
