About This Product
The 9600FLT 1 GHz Wide Offset Phase Noise Filter Accessory is used for wide offset phase noise testing on high performance spectrum analyzers. This filter easily connects to a benchtop or rack-mounted 96xx reference signal generator. Supports the practice of using filters to reduce noise levels at wide (high) offsets to improve test margins.
This filter should only be used at 1 GHz. Phase noise at offsets greater than 1 MHz is removed from the 1 GHz carrier (both sidebands are removed). Use this filter only if you believe that the phase noise specifications of the 96xx RF reference signal generator are not sufficient for what you are calibrating. This filter is required in the highest performance spectrum analyzers.
The filter connects in series with the signal cable of the 9640A-50 or 9640A-75 leveling head. A mounting kit allows you to easily attach the filter to the front left handle of the reference signal generator. This mount is fully compatible with Y9600 rack mount accessories.
