About This Product

Clamp-on type ultrasonic flowmeter is a flowmeter that can measure fluid flow rate without contact. A sensor is attached from the outside of the pipe and uses ultrasonic waves to measure the flow velocity. Since measurements can be made without direct contact with the pipe, it does not affect the fluid being measured and is easy to install and maintain. In addition, it has a wide measurement range and relatively high measurement accuracy, so it is used in a variety of fields including industrial fields.

■Flow rate detection principle

・The flow velocity and flow rate of the fluid is calculated from the difference in propagation time of ultrasonic waves propagating from upstream to downstream (forward direction) and from downstream to upstream (reverse direction). ・Forward-directed ultrasonic waves propagate along with the flow of fluid, so the faster the flow, the shorter the time it takes to propagate. ・On the other hand, ultrasonic waves in the opposite direction propagate against the flow, so the faster the flow, the longer the time it takes to propagate. ・The flow rate can be measured because the difference in propagation time in the forward and reverse directions correlates with the flow rate.
