The driver's internal components have been optimized to make it smaller and thinner. It is now possible to install multiple units closely together, and it is also possible to increase the number of axes used within the same space.

■Reduce power consumption by up to 47%

By optimizing the motor material, we have significantly reduced loss and reduced power consumption by up to 47%. This contributes to reducing not only electricity costs but also CO2 emissions.

■Reducing the effects of heat inside the device

By reducing motor loss, heat generation is also reduced. It reduces the effect of heat on other devices in a sealed device, and reduces the effort and cost of heat countermeasures using fans and heat sinks.

■High precision positioning

The positioning accuracy of the RKⅡ series is ±0.05° (±3min). When used in combination with a ball screw like the one shown below, the positioning accuracy will be ±1.4 µm. The accuracy of general ground ball screws is ±10 µm, so even compared to that, positioning operations with sufficiently high accuracy are possible.

■Small size and high torque

The RKⅡ series is small and achieves high torque. With a mounting angle of 42mm, the torque has further increased by 50%. This reduces positioning time and contributes to increasing equipment takt time. In addition, mounting angle dimensions of 60mm and 85mm have been added to cover a wide range of torque.

■Reduce positioning time

Conventional stepping motors are sometimes used with lower operating current and torque in applications where it is desired to suppress heat generation. The RKⅡ series uses a high-efficiency motor with low heat generation, so it can shorten positioning time by making full use of the motor's torque.

■Significantly reduces vibration and noise

Vibration characteristics have been significantly improved by adopting a full-time microstep driver with full digital control (a first for a 5-phase stepping motor). Current control is digitized and processed by a high-performance CPU. By changing from the conventional total current detection PAM control to each phase current detection PWM control, the current flowing through each phase is made into a sine wave. As a result, vibration and noise have been significantly reduced.
