About This Product
■Summary
No other soil moisture probe system allows you to monitor soil moisture profiles as easily and flexibly. Place the access tube in the soil, insert the PR2 profile probe, and press the HH2 [read] button to instantly display the reading. Alternatively, the PR2 can be connected to a data logger (GP2 or DL6) and left in the system to record changes in soil moisture over time.
The PR2 SDI-12 Profile Probe is designed based on the proven and field-proven technology of the analog PR2. Featuring the widely used SDI-12 interface (v1.3), the PR2 SDI-12 can be combined with an even wider range of data loggers, sensors, and equipment.
SDI-12 is an established communications standard adopted by many manufacturers of environmental monitoring and control equipment. It is popular because it allows a large number of sensors (from many vendors) to be connected to the logger via a simple cable network. This eliminates the need for large-scale wiring and reduces costs.
The PR2 SDI-12 is a digital version of the popular analog PR2 profile probe. It retains many of the advantages of the analog PR2 soil moisture probe, but adds SDI-12 compatibility, allowing it to be added to new or existing SDI-12 systems.
