About This Product

OMNImet®•GUT (model number: ME-200) is a kit for collecting and preserving metabolites contained in feces. The collected specimen can be stored at room temperature. This makes it easier to collect samples at the donor's home or even when the donor is far away. The collected samples can be analyzed using common analytical equipment. *This kit is a research reagent. *The storage solution in this kit contains highly concentrated alcohol. Please store and use out of reach of children and be careful of fire.

■What is metabolome?

Metabolome is a general term for metabolic substances produced by proteins and enzymes that exist within the cells and tissues of living organisms. The research field that detects and analyzes these is called metabolomics. By analyzing the metabolites present in feces, it is possible to understand the characteristics of enzyme reactions caused by intestinal bacteria. Fecal metabolomics is an important point for elucidating the functions of intestinal metabolites in human health and disease.

・The preservation solution in the kit allows storage at room temperature (15-25℃) for 7 days...Samples can be collected even in locations without freezing equipment. It also supports normal temperature transportation. ・Supports comprehensive metabolome analysis and short chain fatty acids (SCFA)...Can be used for both target and non-target analysis. ・An all-in-one kit that includes collection and storage in one...Since it is a kit, it is possible to collect a fixed amount of sample. A steel ball built into the tube facilitates homogenization. ・Equipped with a barcode on the tube...facilitating sample management in the laboratory.
