■For very high and low Reynolds numbers
The model FLC-WG wedge flow meter consists of a pipe with a V-shaped wedge attached inside. Through this configuration, differential pressure is generated by the flow rate. Because of this design, wedge flow meters can be applied to almost any fluid. In particular, the Reynold number can be applied from a very low 300 or so to a very high millions.
As a result, wedge flow meters are very suitable not only for gases and viscous bodies, but also for slurries and highly viscous media (e.g. wastewater, sewage, sludge, tar, sand, cement, etc.).
■Low maintenance frequency due to rugged design
The wedge-shaped flow meter design is extremely robust against particles, corrosion, and abrasive media.
■Bidirectional measurement possible for various flow rates
The wedge-shaped flow meter's constructive design allows for bi-directional measurements. This is what makes it different from other flow meters. Four different H/D ratios are available as standard to cover a large number of flow ratios.
