About This Product
■Product description
Diaphragm seals are used to protect instruments from aggressive, viscous, crystalline, corrosive, environmentally harmful or toxic media. The diaphragm is constructed of a material suitable for isolation from the fluid being measured. Therefore, by combining the measuring device with a diaphragm seal, even difficult measurement conditions can be met.
A fill fluid inside the system, which can be selected to suit the specific application, hydraulically transfers the pressure to the measurement equipment. Due to the large number of available combinations of diaphragm seal designs and materials, almost unlimited application possibilities exist. The type of process connection (flange, threaded) and basic manufacturing method are important design differentiation criteria.
For further information on diaphragm seals and diaphragm seal systems, please refer to IN 00.06, which describes applications, operating principles and design. In design, threaded connection diaphragm seal model 990.10 is commonly used. The lower body can be replaced without changing the diaphragm seal system. (e.g. changing process connections)
Can cover a higher pressure range (smaller diameter diaphragm) compared to model 990.40 diaphragm seal. The connection between the diaphragm seal and the measuring device is typically a direct connection, but optionally a cooling mechanism or a stretchable capillary connection is also available.
Regarding material selection, WIKA offers a wide range of solutions in which the upper body, diaphragm and lower body can be made of the same or different materials. The diaphragm and lower body can be provided with metal membrane coating. WIKA's diaphragm seals, model 990.10, are particularly suitable for aggressive or hot fluids. This instrument is primarily intended for process industry applications.
